The following professional regulations apply to our legal work:
- the Federal Lawyers’ Act (BRAO),
- the Lawyers’ Remuneration Act (RVG),
- the Specialist lawyer regulations (FAO) as well as
- the professional code of conduct for lawyers (BORA)
- the professional rules of lawyers of the European Community (CCBE),
- Law Implementing the Directives of the European Community pertaining to the professional law regulating the legal profession.

- the Tax Advisory Act (StBerG),
- the implementing ordinances for the Tax Consultancy Act (DVStB),
- the tax advisor remuneration ordinance (StBVV) and
- the professional code of the Federal Chamber of Tax Advisors (BOStB).

Competent chambers / supervisory authorities
Unless otherwise stated, all lawyers in the Federal Republic of Germany are admitted and members of the Cologne Bar Association, Riehler Strasse 30, 50668 Cologne, www.rak-koeln.de.
Unless otherwise stated, all tax advisors are also approved in Germany and are members of the Cologne Chamber of Tax Advisors, Gereonstrasse 34, 50670 Cologne, www.stbk-koeln.de. The respective chamber is also the competent supervisory authority.
